T he American Dream was first used by James Truslow Adams in his book The Epic of America which was written in 1931. He states: "The American Dream” is that dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability. Today, “The American Dream” is often associated with immigrants with their belief that there are far better opportunities in the USA than in their country of origin. In general, the American Dream means owning your own home, driving a nice car, having a great job, having the means to acquire material things and having the choices to enjoy life better. Those are easily achievable but do not guarantee fulfillment and happiness. Those are easily achievable but do not guarantee fulfillment and happiness. We all have our “other” dreams, those dreams that really matter most to our hearts, minds and beings. We have to keep those dreams alive and keep focused on them and believe they will come true. When you keep your dreams alive some force or energy within your being tend to move you toward the direction of your dreams. The greatest achievements, the greatest inventions and all the things we now enjoy started with the dreams of those who never wavered in their belief that whatever it is “it can be done”. A million other things that are yet to be seen are already in the minds of anyone of us. Have you ever seen a new item in a store where a flash of thought said you can do something better than that? Do not even underestimate yourself to think you do not possess a mind good enough to ever accomplish anything of substance and never listen to the naysayers who never have anything good to say. Just do it! All of us are made of the same stuff; so think about it. Remember that dreams are free and they tend to come true, so dream the biggest dream. You only have one life so make the most of it. Do whatever you want to do as soon as you can. Always empower yourself with positive thoughts and enjoy this life. |
